The first two American Tug 395's - Bow to bow comparison

Today was fun at the factory.  Duane & Lynn brought Emerald Star II to the factory and moored her bow to bow with Magnus, hull #2.

These boats are outwardly very different.   One has long side rails, the other short.  Owners choice here, we can build the boat with the rails you prefer.  Hull #2 has her 12-foot dinghy with 25hp outboard on the upper boat deck, hull #1 has a 10-foot dinghy with traditional transom davit; again owner preference.  Green vs. Blue; I like them both!!

American Tug 395 Hull #2 just launched!

Congratulations to Jim & Lynn Freeman of Edmonds, Washington on their new American Tug 395 "Magnus".

Magnus is a midnight blue hull with an upper deck crane, short side rails, hardwood floors and the Cummins QSB-380 engine.  She sea-trialed beautifully.

I will be displaying her at the upcoming Trawler Fest Show in Anacortes, WA.  The show runs from Thursday May 12 thru Saturday May 14.  We will have the American Tug 365, 395 and a new AT-435 on display.  Be sure to look me up at the show.  You can always reach me at 206-321-7496.

American Tug 395 Hull #1 heading to the Anacortes Boat Show

I had a great opportunity to take some new pictures of Emerald Star II when she was on her way to the recent Anacortes Boat Show.  The lighting was a little flat but her beauty showed though.  A fun day on the water.

Cruising at displacement speed of 8-knots under 3gph

Do you spot the Bald Eagle on the pilings?  Sometimes you get lucky!

Beautiful long & lean profile of the AT-395.

My new blog on the American Tugs

Welcome to my new blog on the American Tugs.  Please subscribe or add to your favorites.  Check back often as I plan to add content regularly.

I am Steve Scruggs, the broker & owner of Expedition Yacht Sales.  Specializing in Tugs, Trawlers and quality expedition Sailboats.  I have specialized in the American Tugs for seven years and LOVE these great boats!!!

My wife Cindy & I live in La Conner, WA just a few miles from the Tomco Marine Group, builders of the American Tug line of pleasure trawlers.  The American Tug family has been a great experience for us and has brought many wonderful opportunities and introduced us to some good friends.  These are fantastic quality boats and are ideally suited to cruising our northwest waters from Seattle to Alaska.

This blog will grow with time.  I aspire to write good content that will be of interest to those with an interest in adventure cruising in the northwest.

I would welcome the opportunity to introduce you to the American Tugs.  I generally have several really nice pre-owned American Tugs available.  Please let me know how I may be of help.

Thank you,

Steve
