SeaDek: Now available from Marine Detail Specialists

SeaDek pioneered the use of EVA foam to replace either non-skid or teak decking on boats.  It effectively softens the exterior texture for your feet, your dog's paws or seating areas.  Utilizing precision cut patterns to match and accentuate the boats lines, SeaDek adds a glamorous look without the maintenance associated with wood on the exterior.

Represented in the Pacific Northwest by Marine Detail Specialists, our neighbor here in La Conner, WA.  Jeff Paxson has been a certified SeaDek installer since 2017 and has worked on several American Tugs.  Marine Detail Specialists is also one of the very best boat detail shops in the area, they do a great job on cleaning, polishing and waxing our clients boats.

Add a soft feel to your boats cockpit, make your swimstep dog claw friendly or add non-skid to  your dinghy interior.  Installed with a 3M pressure sensitive adhesive so installation is simple.

Waypoint 36 debut at Anacortes Boat Show

American Tugs is very proud to announce the debut of the new Waypoint 36.
Anacortes logo w dates

Please come to the Anacortes Boat & Yacht Show and see our latest model; the new Waypoint 36 by American Tugs.
Waypoint Photo - profile 2-window

The Waypoint 36 is a new model being introduced by Tomco Marine Group that is designed around our current 365 hull and deck tooling.  The idea behind this project is to offer the boating public a more affordable, quality trawler that is capable of handling the waters from California to Alaska or the Great Loop.

Waypoint layout with labels

We are building an all-new model, but using the same hull and deck structures of the 365 with the same fiberglass construction process and materials.  The interior will have more molded components but will also use much of the gorgeous wood joinery that American Tug is known for.  This blend of low-maintenance glass structure plus traditional shaker style cabinetry will be beautiful.  We are investing in new tooling, using aerospace developed adhesives and incorporating a streamlined build process.  This efficiency in build allows us to offer a lower price.

Two-staterooms + convertible dinette = Sleeps six!
The layout will include two-staterooms and a salon/galley with dinette that converts to a third bunk.  This layout will offer more accommodations than other boats in class and be a perfect cruiser for younger families, fishing buddies or travelling with grand kids.

This is a 17,000-lb yacht built to American Tug standards, offered for an introductory price of $350,000.   Call Steve Scruggs for more information at 360-466-2961 or

New Product: Perfect Tear Paper Towel Rack

Kamenstein Perfect Tear Paper Towel Rack     $15

The perfect paper towel rack for the engine room.  Have you ever arrived at your destination and while checking the engine room found your paper towels had unwound with a pile laying in the bilge?  Ever tried to tear off a single towel with one hand, only to unwind three feet?  Me too...
I found this product while spending time aboard Breezy Spirit, a really nice American Tug 34 that we recently sold.  The rack has a built in "ratchet" or detents that offer resistance as you pull the towels, the perfect amount of resistance to allow for control.  It is a quality product, and ideal for your engine room.  It would also be great in the galley.  Available in wall mount or counter top configurations.
